Recycled high impact polystyrene (rHIPS) is more and more available from food packaging, fridge, toys, appliances. Many SKFP customers have a need for solutions to increase the fluidity of rHIPS.
SKFP has showed that the addition of high fluidity EBA, such as LOTRYL® 28BA700T EMA additive, is very efficient to fluidify rHIPS. For most customers, the LOTRYL® acrylate copolymers loading of 5 wieght percent is sufficient to increase the MFI by +40°C.
In previous technical news, SKFP has also showed some solutions to increase the viscosity of rHIPS using LOTADER® AX8900 or to improve its impact resistance using LOTRYL® 29MA03T.
