Lotader® AX are reactive ethylene copolymers. Due to their reactivity, they are more and more use as adhesion promoter. Their epoxide function has quite versatile affinity to react with acid, hydroxyl, amines or metallic surfaces.
The example below shows their use as adhesion promoters in PV encapsulants when the PV encapsulant does not bond sufficiently to the frontsheet, backsheet or even to the PV cell.
