New additions in SKFP product range: IONIA® Ionomers and PRIMACOR EAA

New additions in SKFP product range: IONIA® Ionomers and PRIMACOR EAA

PRIMACORTM Ethylene Acrylic Acid (EAA) are mainly used as extrudable adhesives between foils, metallized films, paper and plastic films. Their main applications are flexible and rigid aseptic packaging … PRIMACORTM EAA are also used to produce a diversified range of products as carpets backing, wire cables insulation films, toothpaste tubes, nylons compounds….

IONIA® ionomers are produced by the reaction of PRIMACORTM EAA and metal ions. IONIA® ionomers have superior scratch resistance, high mechanical strength, seal through properties, outstanding clarity, and adhesive properties similar to EAA. IONIA® ionomers are widely used as sealing layers in flexible packaging. They are also used in golf balls for their superior mechanical properties, in multilayer glass for their high clarity, in thermoplastic polyesters as impact modifiers and scratch resistance, and for their surface properties in shock tubes.

Both IONIA® and PRIMACORTM resins are commercialized by SK functional polymer (SKFP).
