Description

OREVAC® 18780 is a maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene.

• OREVAC® 18780 has been designed to develop a reliable bonding strength between polypropylene (homopolymer or copolymer) and barrier layers such as polyamides and EVOH.
• Containing a higher amount of grafted reactive functionalities compared to standard PP-based tie resins, OREVAC® 18780 is to be dry-blended with PP prior to extrusion.
• OREVAC® 18780 is recommended for rigid packaging manufacturing, through processes such as blow molding, cast coextrusion, or thermoforming.

Processing

OREVAC® 18780 is not corrosive and is readily processed with standard polyolefin equipment.
Conditions typically used in extrusion of polypropylene resins are suitable.
Typical extrusion temperature settings could be:

Zone 1: 210-220°C
Zone 2: 220-230°C
Zone 3: 230°C
Zone 4: 230°C
Fittings-Channels: 240°C
Die: 240°C

Final profile and settings will depend on the line and the multi-layer structure being run.

Storage, Handling & Safety

OREVAC® 18780 should be stored in a ventilated area, away from heat, humidity and direct sunlight. Improper storage conditions may cause degradation and could have consequences on physical properties of the product.

Shelf Life

Three years from the date of delivery, in unopened packaging. For any use above this limit, please refer to our technical services.
