Tie  Resins  For  Sausage Casings

Tie  Resins  For  Sausage Casings

Sausage casing films require an optimal balance between high oxygen barrier, excellent optical clarity, controlled shrink properties, and reliable interlayer adhesion under severe biaxial orientation.
These films are typically produced using double- or triple-bubble extrusion processes, where adhesion stability must be maintained during high draw down ratios and stretching steps.

To address these requirements, SK Functional Polymer (SK FP) offers a dedicated portfolio of OREVAC® and LOTADER® tie resins, designed to ensure robust adhesion between PE, PA, EVOH, and PET layers in multilayer sausage casing structures.

  1. Applications

SK FP tie resin solutions are recommended for flexible barrier structures used in:

→ Fresh and cooked sausage casings
→ Hot dogs, frankfurters, and processed meat products
→ High-shrink, high-clarity barrier films
→ Multilayer food packaging requiring biaxial orientation

Examples of multi-bubble extrusion barrier packaging

Structure examples :

 PE / Tie / PA / EVOH / PA / Tie / PE
→ Standard high-barrier sausage casing film

Co-PET / Tie / PA / EVOH / PA / Tie / PE
→ High-clarity, high-shrink casing film for triple-bubble extrusion
