Circular economy is one the biggest challenges of the plastic industry. SK Functional Polymer (SKFP) offers new solutions for upcycling Acrylonitrile/Butadiene/Styrene (rABS) from Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Although ABS can be recycled, its engineering properties such as toughness, tensile and impact strength are not easy to maintain. SKFP solutions can help to fine-tune rABS fluidity and impact resistance of rABS compounds.
Impact resistance modifier: Lotryl® 29MA03T and Lotryl®40MA05T are the solutions to significantly increase the impact strength.
Viscosity modifier: Lotryl® 28BA700T enables to lower the viscosity of rABS. On the opposite due to its reactive epoxide groups, Lotader® AX8900 is used to increase rABS viscosity.
Lotryl® 29MA03T, Lotryl® 40MA05T and Lotryl® 28BA700T are ethylene – methyl acrylate (MA) and ethylene – butyl acrylate (BA) copolymers with high acrylate content. Lotader® AX8900 is a highly reactive ethylene – methyl acrylate – glycidyl methacrylate terpolymer.
